Building new HTPC (BR.iso/3D/Karaoke/music databases)
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:41:24 pm »

Hi, I am in the progress of getting information on building a HTPC to replace my standalone BD player, my Dune Duo media player, a Himedia 900B media player (for 3D) and a 7 years old PC based karaoke system for my HT Room aka bat cave.

Currently, have these in mind:-

CPU: Intel i3 3225 (HD4000 Graphic)
MOBO: ASRock H77M ( I don't need the overclock function of Z77)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
PSU: Seasonic S Bronze 620W (Over done???)
Casing: Cooler Master HAF XB (Big ass casing with 2 hotswapable direct access HDD drive and cheaper than the Silverstone GD06)
RAM: KINGSTON HYPER-X LOVO 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3L 1600MHz CL9
SSD: Kingston Hyper X 3K 120GB
BD-ROM: Samsung BD ROM
OS: WIn 7 Home Premium 64bit

I have currently around 20TB of BD.iso/mkv connected using HDD 4 bays enclosure, internal drives of the media player and standalone external drives.
Hopefully I can built it around MC18 but how can I have BD's menu from bd.iso using MC18 and what about 3D playback?

Hi,

MC Does not currently support either
- BD 3d --> http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=75248.0
- BD Menus though it does provide it's own OSD for the selection of streams (eg audio, subs) and titles etc.

Can I also suggest that if you want the "best" video quality then look at adding a GPU like the GTX660 as it will handle all major video formats using madVR's Jinc3+AR.
