DVD Menus Sound Buffer Repeat

When DVDs get to the menu, the sound buffer repeats.  So I hear the last 1/4 of a second of audio, leading up to the menu, play repeatedly.  Is there a way to fix this?  It is quite annoying to hear.  It has been happening for probably a year now, I have just ignored it.
