Audio skips with MC18...
« on: December 23, 2012, 09:32:11 pm »

Hello All,

Just upgraded to MC 18 from previous version and while I am impressed with how much better SACD iso files are handled and more responsive, I am getting an odd issue with playing back audio regardless of what quality format be it regular CD or hires at 24/96. What I am seeing now, is that when I skip from a song from album to album, MC 18 will start playing the song and then it will cut out for about a second or two and then continue playing normally. Anyone else experiencing this issue as I never got this on the last build of version 17...?!

Cheers,
Vin.

If the CPU can't keep up, the program may need to pause for buffering.

For SACD, you need a fast CPU.  You could test your JRMark (Main menu in MC > Help > Benchmark).  You want 2000 or higher for SACD.

Turning off DSP, resampling, memory playback, etc. might help if you're on the edge.
