corrupt video output

Was going to put this into the supported device thread but couldnt, im trying to use a VideoMateS800 to hook up to the virgin vbox , got a signal on the analogue using there software but when i try to get anything on jriver all i get is a lot of little squares, it appears to be getting the signal but wont playback correctly
