Asio setup panel?
« on: January 05, 2013, 07:27:06 pm »

Yes, I'm a total know nothing when it comes to studio mixing.  All I'm trying to do is use the ik multimedia arc system 2 on my laptop so I can correct my room.  I can't even get past step 3 of 5 on the initial setup wizard.  It's telling me I need to configure my ASIO settings but I don't think my laptop sound card has that capability.  Is that my problem, not a robust enough sound card?  My laptop is a cheap toshiba, totally fine for my application but I'm thinking it's just not even remotely designed to utilize this software.  It does say that ASIO audio hardware is required.  Is that my problem?

A regular PC soundcard won't have an ASIO driver. You need this: http://www.asio4all.com/. This is a driver that will allow you to use your soundcard as an ASIO device.

That worked!  Thanks.  I still have a long way to go before I get it to work, need a mic preamp, etc.
