M2 Tech Hi Face

I have searched MC for the use of M2 Tech Hi Face in my PC, before the USB DAC, but I couldn't find anything.
I have the device, but I don't know how to use it and if there is any advantage using it.
I have the latest ASIO drivers installed in my PC and I like the sound. But I would like to have the best sound I can and I have some hi resolution CDs ripped on my library.
Could anyone explain how to and if I should use it?

The hiFace is a nice device, but I'm not sure why you'd put it before a USB DAC.  A USB DAC wants USB, not S/PDIF.

Devices like the Hiface, Musical Fidelity V-Link are USB to S/pdif converters that supply asynchronous clocking without jitter, output to a DAC or reciever....resulting in better sound out of your DAC, although more recent DAC's do a better job at that than in the past!

Not sure what DAC the OP is using but some USB DACs have limitations to the resolution available over USB rather than SPDIF.

You should simply see it in the Audio Output settings if it is installed and connected.

I use a Vlink 192 supplying SPDIF to my Rega Dac.

The VLInk enables me to play up to 24/192 hires files into the dac, which through USB can only handle 16/44.
USB sounds very good, but SPDIF via Vlink is better AND allows hires files.
