I'm using MC in split view. Since the arrival of Version 18 there is a bug.

If you double click any file in MC it starts playing this file immediately. Either if I double click a file in playing now (locked view 1) or in the 2^nd (unlocked) view.

But it doesn't work in the following case:
Drag and drop some files from view 2 to playing now (view 1). View 2 stays active. Double clicking a file in Playing Now (view 1) does not make the clicked file play but restarts the already playing file.

The solution is to do a single click to the inactive view first followed by a double click to the desired file. For me it is no very big deal. Most the time I remember this and do the single click. But all folks using MC only sometimes always forget about this.

Ok, to be sure I reactivated my old Win7 x86 Laptop, installed the latest version of MC18 and gave it a try to make sure the bug is PC independent. And it is. I made a screenshot to make it easier to reproduce.

How I set up MC:
Split View
  View 1 showing Playing Now
  View 2 showing anything
File 1 is actually playing
File 2 is any other file in Playing Now

What I do:
While File 1 is playing I drag and drop some files from View 2 to View 1.
After doing so, I double click to File 2. Instead of starting Playing File 2 MC restarts Playing File 1. Only double clicking File 2 again makes this file start playing.


I'm getting this with Win7 32bit and Win8 64bit on different machines. Although I stated this bug only appears in MC18 I get the same thing with the latest build of MC17. Not sure when it started.

I used to do this a lot back when I was DJ-ing more, but I haven't done it in a long while.  I'll have to check when I have some time.

Really? Didn't expect that... To be honest: I don't know how I could do more screenshots in order to help with reproducing. Perhaps I'll do a screencap video later this day

Here is a screencap to reproduce the bug. MC is set up as described above.

0:00-0:06: Playback is started
0:07-0:13: showing that double click works
0:14-0:19: dragging two files
0:22-0:22: first double click after dragging files restarts current playing file, not the clicked one.
0:26-0:26: second double click works.
0:29-0:47: doing the same again
0:48-1:18: rating has the same bug!

It looks like drag and drop is leaving the mouse captured by the source window.

I'm sorry this took a while to get to, but look for a fix in a coming build.

After getting the email notification with your post last night I took out a bottle sparkling wine 

I was already on the road to another audio software. I often have to use my laptop together with associates or my dancing partner at the same time. They only need my MC to play music rather then to organize music so they couldn't understand why they had to use a software which half the time plays the wrong song. Now they'll start to love it

With 18.0.144 it works as expected. Finally
