Hi,

I've put a .jvi file in MC 18's saved view folder but for some reason, can't get it to show up as one of the options when I'm trying to load a view.

Any idea as to why that would be?

Thanks,

Joel

Use the View Importer instead.  Create/Customize a new view, and use the Saved Views > Load a view... option.

I reported that this system was broken a long, long while ago.  Seems like it still isn't fixed.

So you're saying the import system doesn't work (I didn't test it, for shame!).  Or that moving the physical .jvi file doesn't work like it used to?  Maybe both...

Great looking avatar!

Moving the physical file does work (or did the last time I tried, which was now quite a while ago), but the import system was broken.

Again, though... I'm going on memory here, and I don't have access to a copy of MC18 to test with right this minute.

Thanks for all the replies.

I did drop my .jvi file into the saved views folder.

But that method hadn't worked in getting that file to show when I tried to load a view.

At the risk of appearing impatient . . . o.k., I'm by nature impatient, what can I do . . . any idea as to when a solution might be forthcoming?

Thanks a lot.

The help on this site has been tremendous for me.

Go to any view at the same general location in the tree (e.g. Audio).

Use Customize > Saved Views > Save a view... in the place MC recommends and take note of that directory.  Give the view a useful name.

In Windows Explorer, navigate to that directory.

Rename your earlier saved view to the same name MC used to saved the view above.

Move your earlier, now renamed view file to the MC Save View area, overwriting the one you just created.

Now, in MC you can create a new view and pick your older view from the view template browser.

Edit for above.  I found I could just move my saved view file to the

   ...AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 18\Library\Saved Views

folder and then from the View Template Browser, just select it.

That's not working for you?
