The way my library set up is, the the particular folder is corresponded to the playlist with the same name. When I add files to the folder, is there a way to update the playlist as well without dragging files to the playlist?

You would want to use a Smartlist then, that keys off the filename (path).  Set the rules to include all files in the same directory.  Ask if you need help with this.

Fold open Playlists/Smartlists.

Right click Smartlists, Add new Smartlist or press F9.

Give it a name and pick the Media Type in your folder.

Add a new rule, first field choose Filename (path), second field "starts with" and finally, the base path the files are in.
