Gizmo failure to connect hint..
« on: October 06, 2012, 11:56:59 am »

After trying to figure out why Gizmo wouldn't connect to one of my computers, I determined that Media Center 18 was not on the allowed programs in Windows firewall for some reason.  If you are having problems connecting, check Control Panel >Windows Firewall>Allowed Programs and verify that Media Center is on the list and if not then add it.

So this is a bit unique in that I have MC18 on my main server PC and am running MC17 on another PC accessing files from my main server. Music plays fine except I can not use Gizmo anymore to control PC running MC17. Thoughts on this?

You need to use the same version on both.

I added MC to and MC Extenders to the the Firewall allowed settings, but the My River iPhone app will still not connect. I entered the Access Code from the J River settings, but it still did not work. Any thoughts on how to make the iPhone app work? Thx.

Please use the My River thread on the Third Party board here.  This is a Gizmo thread.
