Question on DLNA video playback: ideal config.
« on: February 07, 2013, 03:11:09 am »

Hi All, first post bear with me, have searched for my query but no luck.

Am trialling MC, and before I spend the long green, would like to know it does what I want. Last night installed ok, played audio fabulously well to my Sony Bravia TV, using DLNA (controlled by J Remote!), the issue is on video. What is the best format to rip the DVD to....I tried a couple of formats and the picture quality was a little, shall we say, VHS.

Is there a optimal settings for both MC, the PC and the TV (renderer off or on?) etc

(I really don't want to go the Apple iTunes TV route)...

How long is a piece of string!

What format and compression settings have you ripped to up to now?

Also, are you converting video on-the-fly in MC's DLNA settings and if so what are you converting to, or have you configured No Conversion?
