Currently I have my music in folders, and all those folders are sorted under broad Genre folders (rock, jazz, classical, etc.).

Since MC18's Genre field is a list, I would like to select all the file under a Genre Folder and add that to the existing Genre information, without losing the existing Genre info.

For example, I want to add "Reggae" to all the Genre fields of all the files under the _Reggae folder, without removing the existing information in the Genre field, which is either "Reggae" or some sort of Style or Sub-Genre info like "Dancefloor" or "Ska".   (So if I later want to just show the "Ska" albums, I can do that, so that is why I don't want to just overwrite it with "Reggage").

I tried selecting all those files, clicked on Tag, and all the Fields said "Varies" which made sense for so many files.  Then I edited Genre and added " ; Reggae " to it.

The result is that all the Genre fields say " [Varies] ; Reggae " in each of the files.

So, it is not so simple.

Is this possible to do in MC18 ?
