Or did I just miss them? Or are they waiting in the wings to be ripped? You MUST have these great bands around somewhere . . .

"It Never Entered My Mind" - Miles Davis Workin' - 1962: dinner in a cluttered student apartment with a woman who looked a lot like Mai Britt (remember her?). Lots of cheap red wine (all we could afford, and besides, who knew anything about wine back then). Miles playing in the background with that great band: Philly Joe, Red Garland, Chambers, Coltrane. Easy conversation - just two people comfortable with one another. An evening that makes everything else worthwhile.

Shortly after that, she reluctantly went out with a guy she had no interest in. Was thrown from the back of his motorcycle in traffic, never regained consciousness. Sad. Can't listen to that track without going back to that evening.

Mott The Hoople - All The Way From Memphis

Circa 1978:  my girlfriend had gone off to Washington State as a music major. On a visit back to Southern California, she told me that she had been assigned to write a research paper on the use of keyboards in rock music, and since she didn't listen to rock, she was hoping that I could provide some examples of rock & roll songs that contained particularly creative or skilled keyboard work. I frantically went through my entire record collection, but that song by Mott the Hoople was the best example of keyboards in rock that I could find in my collection at the time. Good thing she wasn't looking for examples of the use of brass (instruments) . . .

>>>>>>>Do 'real' rock songs have keybroad?

Darn it! She was there at spring break--April 1st. I should have known it was a trick question. Well, it only took 22 years to "get it." Now, if I could just track her down, I could ask if that was why she never came back . . .

Jon Lord. Yes, heard of him (DP). But, I don't think there's a file in my collection still where the keyboards, if any, were much more than an afterthought, or some (over)producer's idea of an April Fool's Joke . . . there just has to be some such explanation for their presence . . .

The Connells - I suppose (1987)

example of pretty-good guitar work, but occurs during the vocal (chorus), not between or in a solo

Speaking of spring...

My son came in a few minutes ago to ask me for some thistle seed. 'Why', I asked?

'Because I was standing under the bird feeder with my hands out and a bird landed on my fingers', he replied. Gave the boy some seed and off he goes to stand under the feeder again. The chickadee has to be the most fearless, or stupid, bird in the world. I'd like to think it is fearless. Watching out the window, the birds came back to investigate his offering. No takers this time. May have been a lack of patience on his part. Or just enough common sense in that little fluff of feathers to avoid such a creature. I really like spring.

Yes,i think they may.I have 17 bands from your list.Knowing that i do not like pop,it means a large part of the rock ones.We are at least 2 to have a Cinerama album. If we speak about the same band. The one i have is a punkogrungeo noiso band
If you like "band with a large spiff" try Blueground Undergrass. You can get concerts on not so good sound mp3 from they site.
Did you try Terry Lee Hale? And Hasil Adkim?

yes, seriously. I'll explain later. If you know Plato's attitude toward the role of art in society, it makes sense. Sorry for not responding to your emails lately. Same to MachineHead. But I do read, and greatly enjoy them. Lately, I rush around trying to get some stuff accomplished, sit down briefly for a break, type some asinine nonsense here and then rush off again . . .

right now i am trying to think how i can get my wife to spring for another 160 gig firewire drive.

I don't think this month would be a good idea since i have not had this one but 2 weeks, but i am more thinking may-jun, it looks like a may get a bonus then so that should pay for it.

I will add this list of songs i find here to my wish list.

I asked My Wife What Are Some Good Songs

Trisha Yearwood - How Do I Live.mp3

A song we both like and the feelings go both ways, I could not see My self living with out my wife

----------

Aaron Carter - I'm Gonna Miss You Forever.mp3

I like this song because it tells the story on how i feel if i was to lose her, My wife is my best friend and i have had a crush on her since we met.

----------

Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere.mp3

I Want To Be With You Everywhere Tells It All, I Want To Be With My Wife Everywhere, For Me It Is An Everlasting Love.

Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) - Landslide (live).mp3

129,000 mp3's.  I just deleted 500 because they get in the way of the songs that I really want to listen to. I had 2200 before the deletions (I don't have playlists, or genres, or anything like that. I just right-click on Media Library and select "play" and I find it annoying when I have to walk back over to the computer and skip a song.).

Goodbye Blab Happy.
Goodbye Mark Mulcahy.
Goodbye Icicle Works.
Goodbye Blake Babies.
Goodbye Big Country.
Goodbye Toad The Wet Sprocket.
So long to the Clash, the Jam, PiL, the Pixies, the Damned and the Fall.
The Pastels are outahere.
The Northern Pikes are now gone along with the Reivers.
Adios Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, Whiskeytown, Neko Case, Blue Rodeo and Old 97's.
The Cure and 54-40 may be next . . .

Listening to:
The Bats - Never Said Goodbye
Goo Goo Dolls - So Long
Smart Brown Handbag - Short Road To Goodbye
Jonathan King - Everyone's Gone To The Moon

My wife likes disco

I married her anyway

But I tease her that she's not old enough to have suffered through it in the 70s

It's retro to her

Zevele10

re Cinerama, we're talking about different bands. Mine is the new band fronted by David Gedge, formerly of the Wedding Present. Music is similar to the Go-Betweens.

Listening to: Spirit of the West - Spot The Difference/Political/And If Venice Is Sinking (then I'm going under)
