So we had the TV on for several hours leading up the the Oscars. When the Oscars started I was putting my son to bed so my wife paused it for 35 minutes. I come back downstairs, we play it. Fine. A few minutes later we miss something so I hit the left arrow on the remote to jump back a few seconds. We end up looking at the red carpet pre-show, and MC thinks it's at the end of the stream. There is no way to fast forward. So we had to switch away and switch back, losing all of our history and the first 35 minutes of the Oscars. She was not happy with me. It was on a library client, if it matters.
It seems like the only thing out of the ordinary was that we'd been on the same channel for such a long time without doing any rewinding/fast forwarding.
