Correct DSP Settings
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:24:46 pm »

I am having trouble correctly setting DSP. I have a 24/96 cable card but currently only doing stereo output so I want everything except 24/96, converted to output as 2 channel 24/96. I assume this is the optimal setting? Upsample everything below 24/96 to 24/96, leave 2 channel 24/96 untouched and downsample everything about 24/96 down to 24/96?

Seems like everything is being converted and output as 6 channel 24/96, even two channel 24/96. And 6 channel high-bit-rate audio also seems to remain at 6 channel. But I see no settings to downmix 6 channel to 2 channel? Screen shots so the output path and channels/bit-rates.

You have selected 2.1 instead of 2.0. With 2.1, JRiver has to use 6 channels because the subwoofer must always be on channel 4. You will only have sound on channels 1, 2, and 4 with the other channels being empty. Any multi-channel sources will still be 2.1 so it is being properly downmixed.

If your sub is crossed over after the DAC, then pick 2.0 in MC's output settings.
