How to downgrade from 143 to 136
« on: March 07, 2013, 07:22:05 am »

How to downgrade from 143 to 136? I have updated Media Center to 143 but now I cannot revert back. When I uninstall 143 completely and then install 136 and then restore library from 136 I got error when playing audio files:

"Something went wrong with playback.... You may not have installed DirectShow filters for decoding the type of files you are trying to open"...

When I uninstall 136 and install 143 again and restore the library from 136 all is fine...

Right now 143 has a broken "jump forward/forward" in DSD...

Any ideas?

I see on other posts that people have also problem with 136. I downgraded to 128 and it seems it is ok -> jump foward/foward works in DSD mode. so that seems to be a problem with 143

144 is out now.  What is the problem you had with 143?

Seek/jump forward in DSD files (iso and dff) crashes JRiver each time. I checked 144 -> same thing.

What device are you using to play DSD?

works in 128, and it does not seem to work in 136,143,144.

As to device. Mytek 192 DSD, USB and Firewire mode...

I'm sorry about this.

Next build:
Fixed: Seeking while bitstreaming DSD could crash.

The problem started here:
18.0.132 (2/14/2013)
6. Fixed: SACD playback could have a slight tick between tracks when the ISO file used DST compression.
8. Changed: DSD playback as PCM uses continuous filters between tracks instead of new filters each track, removing a possible subtle noise at track boundaries.

No problem. I am not usually using it so I did not notice. The clicks are gone and I am very happy about it. I'd rather keep "no clicks" than "seek/forward" possibility...

I would like to ask you: you said you have 3 myteks so I was wondering why? -> Now I think I know -> Are you chaining 3 myteks to get 5.1 SACD sound?
Is that possible?

Who said they have 3 myteks? Matt?

Ted_B from another forum had 3 Myteks for multi-channel DSD. With the ASIO driver they show up as one audio device.

We do have three Myteks.  We were helping Mytek test multi-channel SACD for an upcoming review.

For me, the configuration is trouble free.  I hooked three to the same hub and they just magically work like one 6 channel card with ASIO.

Matt: that was my concern with 146, the "Seeking while bitstreaming DSD could crash" is fixed by now we have ticks back:

It reversed the fix from 132...
"6. Fixed: SACD playback could have a slight tick between tracks when the ISO file used DST compression"

So I am sticking with 136 for now...
