can the converter make a video file into an audio file?

Is it possible to use MC to separate the audio from a music video and convert it into mp3 or flac?

As far as I know it will just allow you to convert to a different type of video file.

Try using Audacity (free) to do this?

Thanks, that's what I thought.  I managed to do it easily enough with a copy of WinX HD Converter.  I don't know if it's a difficult thing to implement or not, but it's one more feature JRiver might consider adding in the future, though hardly a high priority I'd imagine.
