Hi...

I have used a lot of time searching this topic:

Being able to See my music in the folderstructure, that i have placed them in, on my hdd. I dont need any fancy viewing, 3d modes etc., just regular simple easy folder structure like xbmc can do it.

How do i do that please? I cannot buy the software if this is not possible. I really hope to hear an easy answer. I have see threads where people has been asked to do (tagging) of files but that should not be necessary to do as the files are placed in the order i need them to be.

Regards Miccim

In the tree on the left, open Video, then Files.

I don't think there is any way to do it in Gizmo.

You can browse by path - see the attached screenshot.  Leave the File path empty if you want to see all paths.  I've narrowed the browse to only M:\Music in the example.

But you can't scroll to the Playing Now files beneath a view, as JimH mentions.

Also, if you want to see what is in Playing Now, you can create a smartlist.  Call it Playing Now and set the rules (using Import/Export) to:

[=IsInPlayingNow()]=1

You'll need to open another connection to Gizmo in another browser tab (assuming WebGizmo).

Hmm... Then its useless for the users that have their own folder structure they want to use?  Xbmc does that off the shelves. It dosent support vst though. A shame i really liked  J river here....

Cant believe such a simple normal thing has been left out?

If using your own folder structure is all you need then maybe XBMC is what you needed. For the rest of us who want, or need, something more flexible and customizable, XBMC just doesn't cut it.

You CAN browse by your Folder hierarchy, just as I've shown.  It is trivial.

The stock Audio > Files view does this.

Here's how to create one based on another existing view.

Right click Audio > Albums.  Select Customize View...
Click the Add button and select File path.  Click OK.
Move the newly created Location category up (drag or use Move Up).
OK out of the dialog.  Save it to a new view, or overwrite the existing one - your choice.

This view will now browse by folder path.  Change the view to a Panes (instead of Categories) view to browse via a folder-based hierarchical tree in a pane column with the file list below.

See attached.

But this is for Standard or Theater View.  Gizmo is a different beast, and is configured in a different location (Tools > Options > Media Network > Advanced > Customize views for Gizmo & WebGizmo).  Follow what I mentioned in the previous post.
