Possible Bugs with Parametric EQ and Test Clips
« on: March 21, 2013, 10:36:07 pm »

So I tried to set the levels for my speakers today. Some strange stuff happening that I noticed:

- the low and high pass filters don't seem to work in Parametric EQ. They do work in Parametric EQ 2. At least for me! I was trying to put a 150Hz low pass on the center channel and having it on or off made no difference with pink noise in Parametric EQ. Working as designed in Parametric EQ 2.
- the pink noise 192kHz 8ch test track generated by JRiver plays strangely with the Parametric EQ (either version). I have copied the center to channel 10. Then when I play back the test track I get output from channel 10 and also left and right but not the center channel nor any of the other channels. All the other test tracks seem to work fine.

Make sure the checkbox next to the filter is checked and also confirm that the checkbox next to 'Parametric Equalizer' is also checked.

You could also drag Analyzer up and down and watch what's happening at each stage in the chain.  You can use Tools > Advanced Tools > Audio Calibration > Volume calibration to get tones for each speaker.
