License
« on: April 02, 2002, 04:30:42 pm »

My last post seems to have gone off track somewhat.  To recall,  I recently upgraded to Windows 2000 and after restoring the license I went to Help to back it up again and the Backup was greyed out.  I am assuming that the restore did not work.  I am still getting warnings of expiration.  The version of MJ is 7.2.272.  When I originally backed up the license I did it to three seperate floppies (just in case).  The file name on all the floppies is MediaJukebox7.rrg. I tried the restore from all three floppies.  No change. I have opened up the file with notepad and the format is something like this:

BB RRG 1.2
H
A line and a few characters of random characters.
My name
My name
2.0
My name
My name
My name
My email address
My telephone number
My name
VISA
Visa expiration date
A line of Hex characters
My address
Blank line
My Town

Just wondered if this is the correct format and if it would help.

Are you interested in the beta edition? That license, if it was originally for 7.2 should also work for the next release. It's just a thought, and if you do want to try Version 8.0.xxx you can find it in this thread. Note the warning.

I originally purchased Version 6. I have installed 7.2.280 on my new PC. It says it has restored the license but the 'Plus' features don't work and it tell me me my trial has expired.

Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

So how do I get a fully functional version again? 7.2 seems to accept my ver 6 .rrg file but it still tells me I have a trial version. I like this jukebox a great deal but I don't really want to pay twice.

Thanks.

what someone did when they had a version 6 license was install version 6, registered version 6, then installed version 7 and it was registered.

you need to find version 6 exe if you do not have it, since it is not on the j river server

Thanks. I've had a quick look for a version 6 download. I'd better have a longer look now.

I have, as suggested, upgraded to V7.2.280.  This also does not seem to read the license file properly or at least does not restore my MJ to full functionality.
