Looks good sounds good everything appears to be working. I haven't used the MPEG|PLS| internal encoder yet it wasn't working before I will try it but could you tell me if it is working. Also I guess the double entries in the last post are so you have quicker access to a different setting? This makes sence to me.

MPEG|PLS| encoder plug-in is not working. It's not a part of MJ installation. New build of the encoder can be found on our plug-ins web page. build (2.0.2) has some problems.

Ditto here. Only thing I don't like is that I can no longer adj DFX plug-in in mini-me mode. Would it be possible to add/restore this? Please.

Being the sucker for punishment that I am, I installed Arsenolite again. This would be a really cool vis if it didn't do goofy things all the time.

Here goes- Start player, select Arsenolite and toggle to full screen. Start clicking thru the different scripts. Hey wait a minute, where is my cursor? This happened when I started from winamp man and went backwords thru the list. Left button is what I"m saying. Cursor-poof-vanished into thin air. Wierd thing was I could still click the button because it had locked on to it somehow. Next C_A_D to escape. Now the cursor shows up in the end task window but blinks out of existance if you move it over the vis.

That business about the help file in the last beta thread was my mistake. Used to windows seeking something right away when typing in that area.

Is there any chance of getting the different settings back in DSP? Wide , Insano, etc.

Still loops the last couple of seconds of the last song in a playlist.
Progress indicator as GeekBoy said over there.
Still can't configure Encoder Plugins from Plugin Manager.

Man, this is one fine looking build. Love the DSP Studio. Visualizations are reacting stronger than before.

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff7b9a6.

Managed to get 'em both this time. Restarted MJ and tried to switch back to standard visualizations and these came one after another.

Just checked before I posted this...Uninstalling A-lite from plug-in manager worked. It is now gone from the list unlike a few of the last builds. MJ started without a hitch now. I'm sure there is something nasty happening with the particular plug-in that doesn't agree with MJ operation.

Like the new DSP Studio and thanks for the toolbar button to get to it directly!

With DFX installed...  The first time you bring up the DSP studio after starting MJ, you are allowed to drag the DFX window around inside the DSP studio window.  In the process, DFX window is totally distorted.  If you close the DSP studio and open it again, the DFX window is fine and imobile (which I suspect is the correct behaviour).  Also, if you minimize the DFX window, it minimizes behind "Peak Level".  I suspect that should not even be allowed either.

There's a 7 second delay between the time you turn on or off replay gain and the time it takes effect.  I didn't use it before now so I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour or a bug.

I know the MPEGPlus 2.0.2 encoder still has problems and sure enough it hung halfway through the first track in a rip operation, but pressing cancel hung MJ and I had to kill it from the task manager.  I'm not worried about the encoder hang right now, but the hang on cancel is a problem.

Neither the track nor volume sliders update unless mouse events are fired in the player window.

Maximize the vis studio and it refuses to minimize when selcting the title bar button. Also, the screen in settings > options > playback still has a flicker to it.

Outstanding work on DSP!!!!!
It's great to have it back.
Player window looking good too.

When exporting playlist to HTML, the headings in the HTML do not match the data of the content view I selected.

Example:      Content View = Name  Artist  length
HTML View Headings =   Seq#   Name    Blank

The information from the playlist is correct, just that the headings do not match the content view.
Hope this makes sense.

Bug:
1. Player_OptionsButton.bmp is not right...missing the highlighted image when you move the cursor over it.

Questions
1. How do we change the font and font color for the new skinned player window?

Got this while I had a song paused:
MJPlayer
Internal play buffer error: playing buffer accumulated too much spent data.
Please report this error to JRiver as soon as possible so that it can be fixed.

I pressed OK and then it popped up again. It finally went away after I clicked on the stop button.

BTW, I love the new DSP approach.. very smooth!

- Play/Pause key on Natural Keyboard Pro now no longer opens an Explorer window but instead the keyboard driver's dialog to change the function assigned to the key appears (if MJ is a background app).

- In "mini-me" mode with winamp skins the playlist font is much to small (unreadable) on my machine (1600x1200 with large fonts setting). Or is there a way to change the font size?

- The update of the sliders (position and volume) in the new player window only happens if I move the mouse over the player window.

Download Manager Bugs:
1. The menu bar accelerator keys do not work for the menu items (Alt-F, Alt-E, etc.).
2. Unable to Resume a Paused download.  I had one file downloading and paused it (Ctrl-P).  Then attempt resume (Ctrl-R).  Checked it menu and Resume is still disabled (can't select).
3. After resume failure, I exited DM.  Now DM crashed everytime I restart it.  I shows my one file paused and the crahsed (on WinXP):

AppName: download manager.exe  AppVer: 1.0.97.0  ModName: download manager.exe
ModVer: 1.0.97.0  Offset: 0001e81c

As it is now, I'm hosed because DM crashes 100% of the time trying to start it now.  I'll have to figure out where DM has this paused file reference cached and delete it.

I remember jokingly posting that the interface was dowdy and that you guys should fix it.

I didn't think you'd take me seriously.

The new player window (and more importantly - the future that it hints at) is very nice! Next Page

And the DSP Studio... Wow! Well worth the wait!

Now... on to the bug testing. I'm going to give a really thorough run-through tonight, so we'll see how she holds up. Next Page

Download Manager Bugs
1) We're working on solving that problem. The same code works for MJ but not DM.
2) The "Resume" function is to continue the previously canceled downloads. To resume a paused download, select the item and click on "Resume Paused Download" on the rightclick menu or the Downloads menu. Yeah, it is confusing, any suggestions?
3) Will check on the crash. If you could, please send me (hftey@jriver.com) DMListInfo.dat which is located where you install MJ. Then delete DMListInfo.dat and try load Download Manager again. This will remove your previous download list.

DSP Studio : Doesn't remember the last position I had it in after I close MJ and restart it.
DSP Studio : EQ and Effects don't remember the settings I chose after I close MJ and restart it.

I'm still getting Analyzing Devices when I right click on some things (Media Library, Vis Window). It doesn't seem to be as prevalent as it was in the past few builds, though.

Anyway did anyone mention that the progress indicator seems to be off at the beginning and the end by a few seconds?

Hi,

Here's a bug that's been there since at least build 227 :

When playing a song for the first time (1), the TOP HITS playlist reports it as played twice (2). Subsequent playbacks will increment playcount by one.

Apart from that, build 239 looks great with the new Mega-Me skinning and
DSP Studio.

Being the bored little IT worker that I am, I "fixed" the DSP Options button for the player window. Since the mouseover and button down images didn't highlight the same way the rest did, I editted it so that it matches better.

If you want to use it (like if you care as much as I apparently do Next Page) feel free to download this and copy it to the C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\MegaSkins folder (overwriting the original). Then restart MJ.

I noticed that there's a slight bug in that one button, in that it's buttondown state doesn't happen (because of the menu that pops up) unless you click it twice. No big deal, really.

The skin is positioned at the physical bottom of the screen - on top of the task bar. At least on WinXP. While this is a major improvement, it should take the usable desktop resolution into account, not the physical screen resolution.

Also - on WinXP, there is still no entry for MJ in the task manager list when in Mini-me mode.

If I use MJ to move a file from one folder to another, and there is already a file in the destination with the same name, the replacement works ok, but the display of the two files in the grid turns to garbage.  Could this be Library auto-update related?

The new look of the player controls looks nice; but shouldn't that sort of thing be in a skin?  I like my basic look to look basic. When I'm working, I like to have my workspace uncluttered and simple.  For company, I'll put on a fancy skin.

If so, you can download it,

and copy the files to C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\MegaSkins  (and overwrite the originals). Then just restart MJ and you should be all set. Next Page

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused an invalid page fault in
module MEDIA JUKEBOX.EXE at 0167:0050c457.

This one occured while playing around with search settings. MJ was playing at the same time.

Replay Gain Analysis doesn't save anymore. Files previously analyzed are fine, but files analyzed in this build don't save their value.

Try opening file properties on the new files, then saving, then opening file properties again and analysing replay gain. It looks like ID3v2 tags need to exist before you analyse

Using an image source file (cover art) in the spectrum analyzer doesn't show properly when changing the width/height. The gradient works however.

Lots of problems with the custom menus in MJ. First the known one of going off screen...now in XP, it doesn't use the same colors from the msstyles theme file. Also..file properties/vis studio is not using the correct windows colors. Both color problems are using 3D Object Text color. I think it should be using Window Text color on Window Background color just like TreeView/Content View.

The style I'm using now is fine except in these two areas.

Request:
1. The Bahavior setting for the Play button really is missing a basic option...Play selected files.  Why must we right-click and click Play from the popup menu when a simple click of the Play button makes perfect sense (for some)? (when MJ is stopped, of course)

...What's missing?

Download Manager : Everytime I start Download Manager, I get the following message "The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection". I'm using Dial-Up Networking, and all of my connections (I have 2) work just fine.

Media Scheduler : I'm trying to use Media Scheduler to play a playlist at a certain time, and then play a different playlist at a different time. I've created two tasks, both set to play a media file, and both point correctly to the playlists I want to use. The first playlist kicks off fine, and while Media Scheduler tries to tell MJ to play the second one, MJ never switches. The other thing I notice about this, is that after all events have fired, I can edit or deactivate the first task, but not the second one.

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused an invalid page fault in
module WNASPI32.DLL at 0167:760e1470.

Nailed this one trying to duplicate Doofs mini-me problem from the zrocker skin thread. Right clicked in the upper left hand corner of the eq and ZOT.

If you try to burn 2 copies of an audio CD from MP3 or MPc, MJ burns the first one OK. Then you are asked to insert the second blank CD,I insert second CD, MJ then opens a box saying anylizing devices, then stops with the message--

Error: 'WRITE' command failed on device 1:0:0
Read/Write error or bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 64h C0h)

This also happened with the previous version.
