Splitting Genre for Audio and Video
« on: March 30, 2013, 04:58:42 am »

Is there a way to split Genre Tag for audio and video.
I hate the fact that when tagging video files, audio genres also show up in the dropdown list.
I know i could make a custom genre tag to achieve this result.
But each time mc scrapes informations for movies, they are stored in genre tag.

Would be nice if MC team would split up genre tag for video and audio.
Or are these tags from my music videos?
Then it would be nice to exclude music video genre tag from movie genre tag.
Is there a way i can do this without creating a custom tag field.
If there is no other way,i will have to create a custom genre field for music videos.
That should do the trick then,or am i wrong?

How do you share music videos (concerts) from the movie?
I loaded 5 3 concerts JRiver put them in the directory and 2 SHOW MOVIES, can you tell me why JRiver made this division?

Look at the tag called "Media Subtype".

As Jimh said, just tag your music videos/concerts as Music Video in Media Subtype and they won't show up in Video anymore.
you have to set up Theater view afterwards, and create a new view with Media subtype for Music Video.
Then you have movies and Concerts in extra Views.

Jimh, would it be difficult to seperate genre tag for movies and music videos?
I think i was wrong that audio genres came from audio, they are from music videos genre tag, right?
