Shuffle...
« on: March 31, 2013, 06:50:03 pm »

I like mc18 displayed by album, however what I'd like to do is have the programme on shuffle still, and be able to move between albums in this view. It doesn't seem to be possible? Every time I log in I select under the name header "sort by name (remove groupings temporarily), its a real drag. What is the solution to this? Thanks so much!

I read your post several times yesterday - I didn't understand what you wanted to accomplish.  Can you rephrase?

Sorry MrC, and thanks for your time in advance.

As you can see from that screenshot, the files are organised by albums. If I select a song to play in one of those albums it will begin playing, and then at the end of the song, it will shuffle to another in the same album. What I want to achieve is of course it shuffling to a song from another album.

I cannot seem to do that in that view. A work around solution is to sort my name only, removing the album groupings - then, and only then does it shuffle between albums. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

See Tools > Options > General > Behavior > Double-click.

Perhaps changing Replace Playing Now (all) to Add to Playing Now (to end) is what you want.

The Double-click behavior as affected by the Grouping.

Keep in mind, shuffle randomizes the files that are being added to Playing Now, not re-shuffle those that are already in Playing Now.  For that, you have to Reshuffle.

Sorry I don't understand. What I want to happen is for me to stat playing, from that view above, by double clicking on something, then at the end of that song, I want it to go at random to annother song in or outside the album.

Seperately, is there a general user guide I should read somewhere?

Ok, got it.  I don't have a good solution for what you want (play currently selected song, pick another random song from the view).

The Wiki has all that's documented about MC:

How do most people listen to MC18 on shuffle, though? Like everything at random? I will start educating myself through those links!

Playdoctor is amazing! I cannot believe I didnt know it existed! But one issue - the photo displayed never corresponds to the song being played?
