Theater View error [solved]
« on: April 03, 2013, 04:45:37 am »

Hi,

I am evaluating a few software options for my computer-based music (mainly) playback system. Now, I have just installed the last version of JRiver Media Center and when choosing Theater View I got the this error message:

Error starting Direct3D engine (error loading D3DX9_43.dll -- visit www.microsoft.com/directx)

What's going wrong here? How can I fix this?

I am running JRiver Media Center on a single purpose brand PC (specs at http://aleutia.com/relia-fanless-industrial-server) and Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bits). Other than the OS and MC, no other software is  installed.

The "funny" thing is that I remember running in the past an older version of JRiver Media Center on my quite old (more than 6 years old) Toshiba laptop running Windows XP (with a bunch software installed including a firewall and an anti-virus programs) and I could use Theater View without any issues.

Best regards,
Joster

Try updating the video driver.

The installer should install that Direct3D helper library if your system does not have it.

Maybe try installing the latest build again, and make sure you have internet enabled during the install process.

You can also install it manually by running:
