Media Jukebox uses Windows Media Player and RealPlayer for video playback. WMP used to support Quicktime, and so MJ was able to play Quicktime files. WMP has since ceased to support Quicktime (newer formats - I think it still plays older Quicktime files) and so MJ has lost Quicktime support as well. I've been trying to convince the powers that be to build in Quicktime support using Apple's libraries so that we can have Quicktime support back (and keep it). Hopefully if enough people want this, they'll decide to put it in.

Quicktime is an excellent format. Unfortunately most web sites I have visited use that Real format. I installed it once, ( Real ), to view a how to video on one of my favorite sites and it tried to take over every type of media file on my system. Needless to say it is no longer present. It would be nice if MJ could incorporate this.

Plus Real and WMV look like crap compared to Quicktime.

Well,

I just took a look at the SDK provided by Apple. I don't want to exadurate things but it looks extremely hard to implement the support. We will have to spend couple of weeks just on that.

So for now the answer is no.

Maybe somebody wants to create COM control which can display Quicktime?

Somebody's already done it, apparently.

Not sure what the details would be in regards to using this in MJ, but it's worth checking out, no?

I have a program for set Windows. You can uninstall system restore, movie maker and windowsmediaplayer
They say to install WMPlayer 6.2 instead
In this case can you play all Quick streams?
Do you lost the Windows 8 codex for streaming?
Last,do you need to have WindowsMediaplayer to be able to play it on MediaJukebox?I mean to play streams
