As the subject says, happens randomly, but always AFTER watching a video and try to do something, be it delete the video, select another one.  Gone for as many as three videos before it hangs, but MC 18 will hang.

Not sure what else is needed...

I'm honestly pretty confident it's not the hardware going faulty.  I've run this build under Prime95 and Furmark as well as both Memtest and physical testing due to failings with a power supply, which has been replaced, has been rock solid since under some pretty crushing loads
