Trouble Recognizing Transferred Music Files
« on: April 19, 2013, 01:14:55 pm »

I originally purchased MC17 and I recently purchased a new laptop computer so want to transfer everything to it.  I could not figure out how to move MC17 to the new computer so I downloaded the new version 18 into my new computer then saved all of my music files to an external hard drive. All of the files were originally purchased and downloaded from HD Tracks.  I then put those music files on my new computer and imported them into the new MC18.  All went well and I can see the files and artwork and I configured everything DNLA.  I got Gizmo running on my Android phone and it is synced with the new MC17.  I can see my PerfectWave DAC as the player.  My challenge is that music will not play.  I get a message saying,

"The file could not be found. Check that the filename in the library matches the filename on disk"

I cannot find anything in Wiki to help me solve the problem. Can anyone help me?

The wiki has a topic called "Moving Files".

Also check your auto import settings under Tools/Import/Autoimport.  Add folders and edit them.
