counter() not working in track# field of tag

I used to number albums in several cds starting from 101 to the last track for the first cd, 201 for the 2nd one and so on.
Usually I use counter(101) in track# field of tag for the purpose selecting al the tracks I want to renumber.
Now is not working so ... has something changed in this?
