Hide files & Folders
« on: May 14, 2013, 08:04:18 am »

Is it possible to hide files and folders from the Device view.

When I connect my Nexus 4 phone MC18 see's it as an MTP device which is correct. It then polls the directory structure of everything on my phone. This includes all my ring tones, wallpapers and other app images/sound files.

What I would like to do is hide everything except the music and images folder from showing up in MC18. Is this possible and if so how can I do it.

Thanks,

John

You might be able to add autoimport folders and tell MC to ignore them.

Thanks for the reply Jim however I don't really understand how to set an autoimport folder on a removable device.

Currently an MTP device may show files anywhere on the device.

However, the option to 'Delete on sync' is very careful to leave those files alone.  In other words, it shouldn't matter functionally if those files are shown.

I believe the justification for this decision is that different programs may sync music to different paths.  We show the media so that you have a full picture of what's on the device.
