definition of "recently imported"
« on: May 17, 2013, 10:41:53 pm »

The recently imported section...how exactly is it defined?

Scenario...  I run auto-import from the menu manually.  2 new albums are imported.
I don't tag the tracks yet.
Over the next couple of days, the command line  MC18.exe /mcc 23020,1 is run  from a batch file twice a day via the scheduler in MC.
Some new files are picked up and added to the recently imported list when this runs.

At some point, files disappear out of "recently imported" before I get the chance to tag them.
The option "clear recently imported and recently ripped on exit" is set to Leave All Tracks.

Is it just a matter of I need to get to them within a certain amount of time?

I also wondered this as it doent appear customizable. I created a new root view grouped as file type and rules of Date imported | In the last | whatever time period, and sort by Date impoted (z-a).That way I get a cutomizable list of imports that I can vary the time frame to suit, tag files and find files that went 'awol'

I made my own Smartlists as well:

- "Imported in Last Hour" = "[Date Imported]=<1h ~sort=[Media Type],[Filename],[Date],[Artist],[Series],[File Type]-d,[Name],[Date Imported]-d"
- "Imported in Last Month" = "[Date Imported]=<31d ...... etc etc

I made my own Smartlists as well:
Yup, me too. I put mine in a "Search List Pane" and built the view scheme around fields required for tagging.

  • Imported Today = [=isequal([date imported],formatdate(now(),dd//MM//yyyy),8)]=1
  • Imported Yesterday = [=isequal([date imported],formatdate(math(now()-1),dd//MM//yyyy),8)]=1

etc. etc.

I really don't like the default "recently imported" list and have not used it in years.

I have my own smartlist also.  Just want to know the behind the scenes seach string for the built-in list and why it empties despite that option setting.
