MTP and .PLA playlist

I have a HTC Droid DNA and when I try to sync my playlist I get a blank . PLA playlist file. I searched, but can only find really old posts for .PLA from 2012 with no solutions. Is there a way to have it sync as .M3U? I use JetAudio on my phone, so it supports a lot of files, not just the ones that MTP will support. All my file are MP3 anyways, but it would be nice if MC18 would just treat my MTP device as a Mass USB or not make blank .PLA playlist files. Any workaround I can try?
