I have a copy of MC that I use for work purposes primarily, and I have the "playback" set to External for a number of file types on this copy of MC, so that when I double-click on a file, it opens in the editor I want to actually use for the file.
This works well, except that... MC won't generate thumbs anymore when it is set this way, even though it is perfectly capable of generating thumbs for these file types.
That's annoying because a big hunk of why I want to use MC as my manager for these files is to see the nice thumbnails. So I end up periodically doing a "dance" where I go in to Options > File Types, and switch them all to Automatic, kick of the background thumbnail building, wait overnight, and then switch it back the next morning.
That's pretty silly, since it works fine, I just have to "trick it". Can MC be switched to "try anyway" on these if it is a file type that MC thinks it can thumbnail?
Also, it would be super-dooper-fantastic if these settings were Per-Library (or per-zone or whatever). I essentially have to use that copy of MC as "work stuff only" because of those settings. If I want to switch over to my "real" home library, and watch a movie, I have to go in there and switch them all back to Automatic again.
