I wish MC could...
« on: May 26, 2013, 04:44:21 am »

hallo

... start as a windows service.

I build up a audio-pc. My remote is a android tablet. If I need a service contact at my audio-pc it will be just via remotedesktop. so, normally my audio-pc will never pass the login screen.
my question / wish is that mc could start as a windows 7 service.

I leave my PC running all the time. MC is running as a Service. Under Tools>Options>Startup Windows Startup = Run on Windows Startup: Media Server

Note: MC is not running as a true Windows service when setting these parameters this way - it's simply running as a background application. MC cannot run at all without a user logon.

To the OP - the only way (currently) of getting what you want is to set a user account to auto-logon to the computer and then have MC startup after that. That's what I do and it works fine.

I use my audio-pc as a stand alone box (without display and keyboard). There for I need remote-desktop.
AFAIK you need a password for using that...
any thoughts on that?

Start > Run (Win Key+R)
control userpasswords2

This will let you set up autologon with a password on the account.
