Clarification of output processing?
« on: June 01, 2013, 02:37:23 pm »

Ok, so the dithering happens last in the output sequence.  If you don't change any speeds (leave them all no-change), and hard set dithering to 16 bit, with an assorted source of different speeds, your output should be speed native 16-bit dithered, right?

If there was resampling (everything set to 44.1k) when does it occur?  Right before dithering but after any DSP, or earlier?

Dithering is always the very last thing as data is converted to the bitdepth required by the output hardware.

I was actually asking about when re-sampling takes place.  It's in the output section, so does that mean it's right before dithering?

'Output Format' (including resampling) is first.  That's why it's locked at the top of DSP Studio.
