And how would you display the MC GUI on the TV without a computer? I don't understand that. You'll have to make the manufacturers of the TV's to improve GUI of their DLNA services then. It will take plenty of years before it's on par with MC I'm afraid. Most of TV's today, as well as the receiver you mention, have capabilities like DLNA. But their GUI sucks big time, and the responsiveness of such is laughable at best. That's why people use HTPC's. Preferably with MC
Whoa
Glad I found this post. I've been searching almost 3 hours for this topic.
I am still using the Trial Period. Very happy with the program. I am going to buy it.
The problem I am having is that my TV room and my PC room are not the same room and quite far apart. So, I was also wondering about this exact topic.
However, I REALLY love the theater view mode in order to access my series, movies, etc and the tagging with art, etc. I thought that maybe it would be a good idea for J River to release an App for TVs, Blu-Ray players, etc, even if it costs a bit extra, that would allow you to basically get the Theater Mode on your TV reading the files either via WI-FI or cable network from your library on your PC.
I would really love this feature/app. Maybe they could implement this app with the new PS4 or Xbox One
. I don't really want to keep my PC in my TV room, I suppose that I could use my Laptop to stream the content with JRiver installed, but sometimes I use my laptop for other things.
