is it possible on client machines to continue recording the channel that was last watched, until the channel is changed? meaning even if someone watches movies, home videos, listens to music. when they go back to guide, the last channel watched (hours, days prior) will still be on and recording at the time shift setting?

On our old tivo box, we could just turn the tv on, and if something was on that was interesting, we could back it up hours and still be able to watch or record it... Is there a way to do this with jriver server and clients, if so, how do we accomplish this?
thanks

No, this is not possible.

MC only keep a pre-determined number of hours (default is 4 hours) while time-shifting is running.  It is discarded as soon as you quit watching (unless you turn on recording of the current program).

ok, Thanks.

This would be a nice feature for the future... It's something we miss since we got rid of our tivo.
