MC 17 Migration from XP PC to Win7 Laptop
« on: June 11, 2013, 07:11:01 am »

Bonjour,

JRiver MC17 currently runs perfectly well on my 12 years old XP PC. I will decommission this PC shortly and I will migrate JRiver MC17 to a brand new laptop running Win7. The JRiver library is currently stored on the XP PC C:/ drive and all the music files (wav & flac) reside on a NAS and MC17 points to that NAS.

What is the recommended procedure to insure a successful transfer of JRiver MC 17 and its library from the old PC to the new Win7 laptop?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

This is very easy.

Make a manual library backup (File/Library/Backup) and transfer this file to your new PC. Install MC, restore the license and restore the library backup (File/Library/Restore).

Done :).

PS. Make sure your NAS is accessible from the new PC.

You could read the wiki topic on "Moving Files".
