========
STEPS:
1. Media Library
2. Right click on a song
3. Select 'Properties'
4. Enter some info, e.g., Artist name = 'Test'
5. In the pulldown list in lower right, select either "Update changed files" or "Update all files"
6. Click 'Save'
RESULT:
An error message pops up to the screen -
------------
"Media Jukebox failed to update the tag information for the following files: "
my filepath\filename
"(this happens when files are in use, read-only, or when tagging has been disabled in MJ's options"
------------
EXPECTED RESULT:
Changed tag info to be saved in the APE file
INFORMATION:
MJ Version - 8.0.234 (beta)
Settings:
Plug-in Manager
- Input: Monkey's Audio Player v3.92b2 (most recent for MJ8.x I think)
- Encoder: 2.0.30 (most recent for MJ8.x I think)
Options
Settings > Options > General > Importing & Tagging
- "Automatically import files into Media Library" - this is checked
- "Update tags when file info changes" - this is checked
OS - Windows XP Professional
Filesystem - NTFS
ADDITIONAL INFO:
1. The same error does *not* occur for a MP3 file
2. The APE file was originally encoded from a wav file with the Monkey's Audio application (I believe ver3.9x).
3. The two files I tried this with, APE and MP3, are located on my local drive.
4. I have full read/write privileges for both files (they are not readonly) and & logged in on my machine with Admin privileges.
5. Neither of the files were in use, no other programs are running.
