Wrong Channel Assignments with Surround
« on: June 14, 2013, 07:01:00 am »

When playing back 5.0 or 4.0 surround encoded FLAC files the sound comes from the left, right & centre speakers and nothing from the rear (surround) speakers. 5.1 encoded files play fine. Changing "Channels" in DSP Studio makes no difference.

Mac Mini (2012) with hdmi output to an audio processor. The same files play correctly using Decibel with the same HW/ Audio MIDI configuration.

I have done some further testing with surround SACD images.
- 5.1 encoded surround appears to play correctly
- I have two 5.0 SACD discs that play through the front left/right & centre and to the left surround speaker only (nothing in right surround). Another 5.0 SACD plays front L/R/C but nothing in surrounds. I cannot verify these files as I have no other application that will play SACD surround.
