thank you!!!! now I understand how to record using the "Scheduler".

But my situation is that I have a playlist with many radio-stations. ¿Is it possible put a "record button"? I would like only play the station since my playlist and after pulse the "record button". If I must use "schedule" I need copy-plaste every time when I change of station. ¿Is it possible do any for to avoid copy-plaste URL's every time when I need record?

Thank you!!

From the reply:

Quote
You can add radio stations under Audio > Connected Media.  When you click these, you'll get a dialog that asks what to do (Play, Record, etc.).  The default name is "HTTP Stream.mp3", so you might have files name this in your Audio folder.

But read the follow-up also if you don't see the dialog:

A point of interest.

If you copy the Filename field from a station URL entry in your playlist, and paste that value into the Web Media URL field, the station will appear under Audio > Connected Media > My Connected Media.

Sorry, I'm stupid and my english not help me  :( . I don't undestand, one time I get the dialog. After not get more the dialog.

Now I try to add radio stations under Audio > Connected Media.
When I do it I not get a dialog that asks what to do (Play, Record, etc.).

I do it this:
1) I go to "connect media"
2) right click over "connect media"
3) "add website"
4) I  put the url, for example:
http://173.236.50.59:80

If I do it this the radio channel is added but I not get a dialog.

What am I not doing?

This works ok but I can see all my stations without copy the URL to "Web Media URL" field.

What is "my connected media"? this is a "history" of all stations that I played from MC? If I erase what happens??

sorry for too much questions!

I'm no expert in this area of MC, but I think there is a long history with Connected Media.  I know there were changes several releases ago.  Basically, this would be the user interface for going to web-streaming sites and managing your "connected" media.  There are some predefined / built-in radio station aggregates there, and you can add your own.

I don't have any good sense for how many folks use it, or how they use it.  I don't use it, and for streaming any station, just manage the URLs manually.

But if you want to record a stream - there are only the two ways I've mentioned in the posted link.  This would be one area of improvement.  Like Shift double-clicking a link to bring open a Record Media dialog, or adding a context menu item with right-clicking a URL item.

Web stations are a little clumsy, as many use Flash, and these won't work inside MC's IE control.  So the experience can be suboptimal.  I'd guess JRiver has declared Connected Media to be good enough, and not much worth investing more time.  All speculation on my part.

I only get the dialog from the website, for exemple from here: see capture.

In the website it's veeeryyyy slooww (very very). Sometimes MC freeze and crash.

One more thing.

If I add this website:
http://pub4.sky.fm:80/sky_altrock

in the playlist works ok.

but if I add a link in the tree of radios don't work! so I can't record it!

Sorry, I don't know much more about this.  I routinely record only a few web radio stations via Scheduler, and never use playlists or Connected Media.

Web sites make it difficult to avoid using their web pages to listen, so the experience inside other applications is smelly.

The important trick is to find the final URL that is used to produce the stream and save that.  You can use programs like Fiddler to do this.

Maybe someone else will have some good info for you.
