Diffrent Playback Devices for Diffrent File Types
« on: July 02, 2013, 05:18:07 pm »

Can you have J River change the playback device (HDMI, SPDIF Etc.) depending on the file type.  I need to use the output for movies and multichannel audio (Blu-ray audio Etc) but need to use the SPDIF output for 2 channel sound sent to my external DAC (Lampizator level 4)

Currently I have J River set to Default playback device and I have to manually change the default Playback device in windows when I want to play different media types.

In the past under file types, I have selected J River to Play back 2 channel formats (FLAC) and selected to use external program (Power DVD)  to play movie formats.  In Power DVD, I have it select the HDMI. And JRiver I have it select SPDIF as the playback device.

I prefer to use JRiver for everything, but hate all the switching.
