So far I see no one else is having this problem ... Is it something else on my system?  I clean installed Windows 98SE two weeks ago & hoped that I'd have fixed some of these problems.

One thing I've noticed with the Beta update downloads ... The download is indicated at being 5590kb, yet as far as I'm concerned it has always run well over before it completes & this time stopped at 6361kb?????

Is there any reason now to have them also on the Settings button?

This build is reported to use just over 3.2 MB of ram; previous versions were using 12 - 18 MB.  A tip of my hat to you for that!

Rusty,
Try RamBooster ( http://www.sci.fi/~borg/rambooster/download.htm ). It works great to keep your RAM up to usable levels.

The EQ and DSP buttons in the player were handy, oh well.
Can we get toolbar buttons to replace them?

Bug.

1. I finally figured out what cause MJ to crash sometimes when returning from mini-me mode to MEGA-ME.  If you mini-me skin's files are not stored in the same exact directory name as the Skin Name, MJ crashes...about 80% of the time...when going from mini-me to MEGA-ME.

Update:
Nevermind...mini-me still crashes occasionally when returning to MEGA-ME...even with the Skin Name and directory location names matching.  It seems to happen more often when clicking a "Megaview" button and less often when press Ctrl-E.

4. Fixed: Text property of InfoDisplay would not recognize track info keywords.
2. Yea...it works now, but it's ugly if you use them in an PlayStateChanged event to dynamically customize InfoDisplay entries...because MJ momentarily shows the keywords in the corresponding InfoDisplay text area on screen (you see "ARTIST - NAME" for a split second while MJ is changing tracks, for example).

3. If a window is hidden while mini-me is minimized, when you restore mini-me the hidden window is still shown.  This is what happens if you have a temporary popup window displayed for 3 secs and you press the Minimize button while the popup window is displayed.  When the 3 sec timer pops and the window is hidden (while mini-me is minimized), the window does not actually get hidden (when you restore mini-me).

What are the chances of getting Quicktime support back?

-Various Remote Control stuff follows-

Remote Control (Girder plugin) : Next/Previous Playlist skips Smartlists

Remote Control (Girder plugin) : Play/Pause used to be one remote command in MJ that would toggle the play/pause state. Now pressing the play/pause button causes MJ to start playing the song from the beginning.

Remote Control Request : Can Next/Previous Playlist play the entire Playlist Group as well as stepping in and playing each node of the group?

Remote Control Request : Now that playlist ID's (and thus a static identifier for a playlist) have been implemented, is there anyway a remote control could play a specific playlist with one command?

Remote Control Request : Any way of stepping through vis plugins and individual vis's/trackinfo's etc with a remote?

I'm just going through some of my old bug reports/requests and posting them again because I was told to bring them up later. It's later, so that's why they're all coming out... Next Page

-Download Manager Requests (I'd like to get rid of the once-great-but-now-bloatware that is Go!Zilla)-

Start with Windows
Start Minimized
Minimize to System Tray
Hide System Tray Icon

Allow dragging of files within Download Manager to change the queue order.

Add toolbar buttons for many of the commands (Cancel Download, Clear, Download Now, etc.)

An automatic FTP search that will search for the file you're downloading on numerous FTP sites and automatically download from the fastest one.

Other things I'd like to see, but really aren't that important :

An indication of how far along each piece of a Fragment Download is. The best implementation of this I've seen is an actual split progress bar, where each split represented a fragment.

Skin support.

That cool new Column Auto-Size technology you guys developed for MJ.

Automatic virus scanning using whatever anti virus software you have installed.

An actual byte count on files downloaded via fragment download.

DSP's don't seem to be quite right. i.e. jumps in volume for no apparent reason. I still haven't figured out how to access the MJ DSP after turning it on to experiment with different settings or alternately how to minimize it when I'm finished.

BTW, cool new viz's.

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused an invalid page fault in
module MJPLAYER.DLL at 0167:01c62f65.

MJ gave this error message while playing back in full screen with vis' cycling. DSP is great except that it tends to clip constantly. I'm sure it didn't do this with the last build that had DSP. DSP and EQ are missing from settings button. Is there something I did wrong or am not seeing with this one. Actually I can't even find EQ.

Full screen toggle function is perfect. Great job here.

Also selecting file-edit-view-ETC. buttons while playing are somewhat balky.

Example- Start player and select settings and roll across other buttons. On my system it stays on the settings dropdown. Shouldn't it drop down the menus of the other buttons without having to ckick on them to get focus? Note, this is with the current song list displayed.

Machine- I downloaded the file from the link so I can go back if the next build is evil. I was thinking the samething maybe if you run the update from in MJ it's not showing. I also came from .227 not .231 cause I can't live w/o my DSP and EQ.

I have a screen shot on the clipboard but I have not figured out how to get it in here yet. It shows there is no EQ. Update from MJ is how I got the latest build. Maybe I should try the link above to see if there is some sort of difference.

1. OGG files won’t play anymore!!! They start and immediately they stop.
2. Bruner not recognized:
This bug is around (with known reason) for many weeks now. Is there any tendency to get it fixed.
I just see many minor issues taken care of. How about moving this one to some higher priority???

Thanks in advance

MJ still crashes when starting to play.

This time it started playing but also said "Opening" for awhile (no skips), then crashed.
Also left MJ open for hours, came back, start playing, played for like 3-5secs, then crashed.

Can't reproduce it cause once you restart, everything is fine.

Bug:

1. Something is wacked with the DSP and EQ popup dialogs...they appear out-of-the-blue without trying to bring them up...especially DSP.  I just now right-clicked on the MJ tray icon while MJ was minimized and clicked Play and MJ started play...AND the DSP popup dialog also displayed!!  Still, with MEGA-ME displayed, I see EQ or DSP popup for now reason...very odd.  Then, there are those 'poor souls' who can't see EQ or DSP at all (LOL).

Update:
If you have mini-me displayed and playback is stopped, when you click the Play button, the DSP popup shows up (and playback starts).

I tried playing my 1 hour long, 2 APL (each a half hour in length from the same 60 minute APE) playlist and MJ crashed. I used the sleep timer again, but this time the "MJ has crashed" dialog box was covering the numbers and when I moved it there was just a big white square where it used to be, so I couldn't read it. It looked like it may have played for an hour and a half though.

Hmm... both times that I've checked, it's always happened at the end of the same track. Is it possible there's something wrong with that track?  Matt - is there anyway to check the integrity of an APL/APE?

Still having "buffering" issues with shoutcast streams. Plays ok about an hour then starts buffering continuously. Not a problem with the stream because I can play the stream in Winamp OK. Cable modem so bandwidth not an issue. Should probably also mention that I am running dual processors, I noticed that the sysinfo didn't show that.

Bug:

1. Now, you can not turn off the Always on Top feature for mini-me.  When you try to change it, it always stays enabled and the checkmark remains next to the Always on Top menu item.

2. From the mini-me right-click menu, Open Media File and Open Streaming File do not work.  You click on them, but no Open dialog is presented.

Updated, MJ still bombing every time I attempt to open an MP3 stream.  Worked fine up until 2 builds ago.  It actually plays the stream if after the crash notification, I just leave the "send crash info to Microsoft" dialog up.  Not very practical, though.  Functionality works fine with XP's MediaPlayer, so not a system-wide problem.

Hi - I just noticed that "~n50" that is supposed to limit the smart list selection to 50 tracks actually selects 49.

Metamorphis Request:

1. A Metamorphis function call to turn off and on tooltips (for the whole mini-me skin)...currently I can do this in a skin, but it requires a call to GetSkinItem for each button, slider, etc. and setting the Tooltip property one-at-a-time...yuck.
