Auto-Create Video Particles From mkv Chapters
« on: January 30, 2013, 11:04:15 pm »

Bumping an old request:

Please add the ability to auto-create video particles from mkv chapters in existing mkv files. I have many mkv concert videos that I would like to have available as individual song music videos. Particles representing the mkv chapters would do that. Anyone else interested in this??

The ability to create particles from chapters in general (inc BD) has been requested many time for exacly the reason you state.  Must be lower down the priority list.

I've bumped into this thread, so am bumping it once more for good measure.

Matt,

In lieu of this (or until it is ready), would you be able to modify the Stacks > Advanced > Create Particle command to support creating N particles and change the Name from the current [Name] - Particle to [Name] - Particle N, where N is the particle number (1 to N)?

With this, I can insert the playback ranges for each of these particles using an expression.

This will be way faster than what we have to do now.

Thx

I'm a bit chicken to comment but as MC already knows the chapter marks it would make sence to do it properly one IMO

I agree.

But this can be other utility as well.  It would be very useful and easy to create arbitrary numbers of playback ranges.

The other thing would just to have the command show up on the recent list so you can easily create a bunch.  It is also on my bigger particle wish list ;D

I'm not really clued into particles, so my comment will probably sound daft in that context.

I'd just settle for an MC function to enable the user to specify chapter marks in a video file that can accept them..  ;)
