Import Playlists...?
« on: March 02, 2003, 04:26:39 am »

Since I'm continuously adding, deleting and moving music files, I often clear the library and then update it.

When I clear the library, all of the playlists are deleted.  So I export them to a folder I've set up in order to not lose them.  But I've not found a way to import a saved playlist back into the library.

Any suggestions on this?

thanks,

Duane

Duane,

You can export your playlist in a format of your choice (m3u, mpl) with File/export plylist...

To import them back use Import Media... and check the box for the playlist format (for example mpl or m3u).
Note - You have to click on the button labeled 'Advanced>>' to get access to the format type dialog.

Once you import your playlist they will appear in the playlists tree under 'Imported playlists'

In the hope that this helps

Thanks...

I tried to other way, but the system didn't recognize the drag and dropped files.

I'll try this tonight when I get home.

I don't see that option in MC9

I do see an "Open Media File"

Same?

King,

I meant Tools/Import Media... The standard media import tools. It allows importing playlists by checking the appropriate file format in the list.

Maybe that would be nice to have the "import playlist" function just next to "the export playlist..." in either the File or Tools menu.

have a nice day,

C.
