I own only one domain name, and I got it through Network Solutions. The renewal process was essentially transparent for me. I paid, they renewed, everybody was happy. The only time I've had a pain in the butt with them was when I switched hosts, because the verification that I was who I was, was a nightmare. If you've changed contact information, particularly e-mail addresses or anything like that, it's a real nutroll for them to update their records. You gotta fax them back and forth, all kinds of garbage. It would be silly to recount all the details but suffice it to say, a one-step process became like ten. Assuming that all my contact information had stayed the same, however, I believe there wouldn't have been any problem. My lesson learned was to keep them updated so that any future actions go off without a hitch.
