Hi,

I would like to be able to Toggle List Styles simply by pressing a single button on my remote, can this be done?

I guess not, at least not via ordinary MC config.

I assume you mean List Style in Theater View, so the closest you may get is to map some buttons on your remote to the predefined commands...
Theater View: Audio
Theater View: Images
Theater View: Video
...and for further convenience...
Theater View: Playing Now
Set Mode - Display View

Options > Remote Control > Commands

The first 3 items bring you from anywhere to the Theatre View lists of the 3 predefined main media categories (as long as you haven't altered or deleted them in your navigation: Options > Theater View > Items To Show). From there it is another click (up) to the list style row - in sum 3 clicks until the list style is changed at last. Who undercuts?

So if I understand you correctly you are suggesting a macro for a remote that will accomplish the same as the "button" called Toggle List Style? I will try that, thanks!

I'm actually using MC 18.0.206 on Win7 x64 and Ctrl+U (Toggle List Style - http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Keyboard_Hot-keys) has not the desired effect in my environment, except a jump to 1st item which name starts with the letter U. Maybe the hotkey Wiki is not quite up to date, therefore I posted plan B previously.

Does Ctrl+U work in your environment? Otherwise you might as well spare the effort with the macro.

That Hotkey entry works for Standard View, not Theater View.

Shouldn't it work in Theater View as well? Would make some sense, at least on the Wiki page it does not exclude it.

I suppose it could.  However, I think Theater View was worked such that new keyboard would be necessary, so shortcut-type functionality there was probably not a big priority.

But an MCC command that toggled the view styles could allow using a programmed remote button, or key-binding.  That's the missing component.

I wrote that wiki page, so I'll take responsibility for not clarifying that some items don't work in Theater View.
