Off Line Catalogueing. Is it possible with MC?
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:31:03 pm »

Well I have been using MC for about 3 days now and I can already see that it will be indispensable for my Audio stuff and I have purchased the program.

I have a fairly large video collection as well (About 1400 DVD's and about 400 Blu-Rays) and I don't intend on ripping all of that to HDD.  I would not want to rip it to anything less than full resolution and Quality and in the case of Blu-Rays with full lossless audio.  This means that the Hard drive disc cost would be around 4 - 8GB per DVD and a whopping 25 - 45GB per Blu-Ray.

Hard drive space is cheap but not that cheap!

If MC does allow for off line cataloging (Maybe (Hopefully) I just haven't found it yet) then it would truly replace all of my media software (Of which I also seem to have built a bit of a collection!)

So if it does do this I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

Carl.

PS.  I don't see any place to scan a bar code which is the most often used (In other software) and most convenient I think.

Here's my reply to a similar need.  There are other posts here too.
