Screen Saver kicking in between videos
« on: August 05, 2013, 03:04:39 am »

Hi. This just started happening with 18.211 and has happened with 17 on another computer.

I'm playing files from a Media Server in a playlist. After the first video plays, there's a pause, then the screen saver kicks in. THen the next video plays, but the screen saver is over the top.

Any ideas what could cause this? I was under the impression that as long as Display View was up, the screen saver was disabled.  Is it because it's taking too long for the next video to load up?

Both of these machines are Windows XP machines.

Under Tools/Options, Theater View.

Tick 'Disable screen saver in Theater View'.

But it's not a problem in Theater View. It's a problem when watching videos in Display View.

Ok, I think I discovered more on this issue. If the first video finishes and there's some network trouble, the screen goes blank and there's no video playing, then the screensaver kicks in right away. But when the video comes back, the screensaver doesn't shut off. So, knowing this, do you think using the "disable screensaver in theater view" is the appropriate solution?
