MC remote quit working [Solved by moving IR receiver]
« on: August 12, 2013, 10:35:20 am »

Something changed between 18.0.211 & 18.0.212, and now my MC remote will not work ('212' installed recently as a "stable" release).  I have no idea what might be wrong, and the other problem is that if I try to install the remote it will indicate "you don't appear to have a MC received connected", which is exactly how it installed last time but really did work in spite of the message  (and the MS eHome IR transceiver does show in the device list).

Please advise ...

TIA  :)

Did you try a reboot?  It works here.

Nope ... I'm actually using a Harmony One in practice, but let me find the MC remote and try it ...

Hmmm ... the MC remote works, and now does the Harmony One.  Go figure!

Thanks Jim (... even if it wasn't the batteries ...)

Sunlight can affect IR.

Sunlight can affect IR.

Actually, the problem ended up being the transceiver had moved, probably in response to its cable being tugged, and I didn't notice because it's located behind smoked glass.  My apologies for the false report   :-[
