Flac ripped in JR17 bugs in JR18
« on: August 16, 2013, 04:08:56 pm »

Hi,

I have a strange issue with CDs ripped to flac in JR17 played back in JR18 or foobar2000. There is definitely something wrong in the playback in some songs. Some times it sounds like sections up to half a second have been left out, other times left and right alignment sounds off.

I have tried playing back the strange flacs in JR17 (flawless) JR18 (buggy) and foobar2000 (bugg). A friend tried the same track on JR18 on a different computer and OS with the same result.

The example file I have is probably under copyright protection so I won't post it openly. If JR developers want to dive into this, please let me know.

Please let me know if this is a known issue and what I should do to make the music playable in JR18 and other players.

Thanks,
Borge

The files ripped in JR17 sound good in JR 17.0.189 and foobar2000 1.1.13, both with Win7-32/Core2-Duo 3GHz. On JR 18.0.212 and foobar2000 1.2.6 with Win7-64/I7 they seem to have the same bugs.

Has the flac definition or a shared external component been updated in between those versions?

Thanks,

.. it seems the issue may not be JR related. The very same file has been copied back and forth between a hard drive and an SD card. The one on the SD card is faulty.
